Colombiana 2 (2025) brings back the fierce and fearless assassin Cataleya Restrepo, played once again by Zoe Saldaña, in a high-stakes, emotionally charged continuation of her story. A decade has passed since Cataleya avenged her parents’ death, but peace has remained out of reach. Now living under a new identity in southern Spain, she tries to leave her violent past behind. However, a brutal massacre of innocent civilians in Bogotá, tied to the same drug cartel network that destroyed her childhood, pulls her back into the world she tried to escape.
Haunted by guilt and a thirst for justice, Cataleya returns to Colombia, only to discover that a new generation of traffickers has risen — smarter, more politically connected, and even more ruthless. At the center is Victor Rojas, a charming but cold-blooded kingpin who’s building an empire on the ruins Cataleya once tore down. When she learns that a teenage girl, the daughter of one of her parents’ former allies, is being used as a pawn by Rojas, Cataleya takes on a mission that’s no longer just about vengeance — it’s about protection, redemption, and legacy.
The film explores a deeper, more vulnerable side of Cataleya, as she grapples with the weight of her past and the consequences of a life built on revenge. While still lethal and calculated, she begins to question whether killing truly brings peace, especially when innocent lives are caught in the crossfire. Action in Colombiana 2 is intense, sleek, and choreographed with brutal elegance. From rooftop chases in Cartagena to silent infiltrations in jungle compounds, the film blends suspense with explosive combat. Each scene is shot with a gritty realism, amplifying the tension as Cataleya works her way up the criminal chain, all while being hunted by both the cartel and international intelligence forces.
Aiding her is a former CIA operative turned whistleblower, played by Wagner Moura, who brings intelligence and unpredictability to the alliance.
