Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Speed Has No Limits (2025)
“Run faster. Fight harder. Save the world… again.”

The blue blur is back in Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Speed Has No Limits, the fastest, funniest, and most action-packed chapter of the franchise yet. Picking up after the events of Sonic 3, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) is enjoying some peace in Green Hills when a cosmic rift opens, unleashing a new villain: Vortex (voiced by Pedro Pascal), an interdimensional speedster determined to drain the universe’s kinetic energy.

To stop him, Sonic teams up with Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), Knuckles (Idris Elba), and a surprising ally — Shadow the Hedgehog (Keanu Reeves) — in a globe-spanning race against time. From neon-lit Tokyo streets to gravity-defying chases across floating islands in the sky, the set pieces are pure adrenaline, blending live-action stunts with gorgeous CGI.

The humor is sharp and self-aware, with Sonic’s quips hitting as hard as his spin attacks, while the emotional core comes from the uneasy alliance between Sonic and Shadow. Their dynamic brings depth to the story, balancing rivalry with reluctant trust.

Director Jeff Fowler keeps the pace relentless but never loses sight of character moments, giving fans both heart and spectacle. The action sequences — especially the supersonic showdown on a collapsing space station — are jaw-dropping and make full use of the film’s “speed has no limits” promise.

Verdict: 9/10 — A lightning-fast, visually spectacular, and emotionally satisfying ride that proves the Sonic series is only getting better with each lap.
